Sunflower Beta Carotene

Beta Carotene 15mg - Beta Carotene is found in bright yellow, red and orange fruits and vegetables. They work in the same way as the body's natural defence system to counteract the threats of free radicals by neutralising them. These are known as antioxidents.

Free radicals are uncontrolled oxidents that damage cells, e.g. caused when we inhale pollutants, eat fatty processed foods and smoke. These can be kept in check by antioxidants such as Beta Carotene. Beta Carotene is partially transformed in the body
into Vitamin A as required, it also reaches more areas of the body for longer periods of time than Vitamin A. Beta Carotene has been shown to reduce the risk of skin damage from exposure to UV rays i.e. the sun. It is advisable to use a Beta Carotene supplement (15mg) prior to going on holiday to decrease the risk of prolonged exposure to the sun and help maintain your tan through a natural increase in levels of melaline. You must also continue to use a high factor sun cream!

Contraindications: Smokers are advised not to use Beta Carotene.
